To be considered for the scholarship, candidates’ and their families financial ability must be income constrained and meet the selection criteria listed below. Selection will be based upon an objective and nondiscriminatory basis. 1. To be eligible for an initial award, the candidate must demonstrate financial need in accordance with section 8 below and have graduated in the top 20% of his or her high school graduating class. 2. Candidates must be entering their chosen institution as a first-year freshman during the same calendar year as their high school graduation took place. 3. Candidates must submit a current academic transcript from their high school. 4. Candidates must submit a letter of recommendation from either a High School Teacher, Guidance Counselor or Administration member. 5. Candidates must submit an essay of at least 250 words answering the question: Why are you applying for this scholarship? 6. Scholarship winners must be full-time, fully matriculated undergraduate students with an intended or declared major in accounting, finance, marketing, computer science, actuarial science, business or real estate, and who remain in good academic standing according to the College’s degree and relevant major requirements. The institution must be a state degree granting undergraduate College or University, and the candidate must be at all times a fully matriculating student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree Program. 7. Preference is to be given to each prior year recipient, if they consistently fulfill all criteria contained herein for which the original scholarship was awarded and has achieved a 3.25 cumulative overall GPA. 8. In determining financial need, preference will be given to serving those candidates from households earning not more than 60% of the US median income as determined by Federal guidelines per region (SMSA). 9. Awards to each candidate will be made in an amount of NOT less than 25%, nor MORE than 75% of the annual tuition amount (excluding room and board) set by the candidates’ choice of college. 10. Awards will be disbursed directly to the College and credited to the student’s tuition account. 11. The recipient must agree to fill out appropriate forms as requested by the Foundation and must allow and authorize their selected college in writing to provide the Foundation a transcript of their grade performance for each academic year an award is made.
