The Jennison Charitable Foundation was founded in 1997 with the core mission of providing scholarships to bright, successful high school graduates who lack the financial resources to achieve a college education. The candidates typically are from families earning incomes of less than 60% of the median US income which coupled with the family’s other obligations find themselves unable to provide enough funds for their child to achieve a four year college education. A key component of the scholarship is that recipients that continue to achieve certain milestones will receive a preference for re-awarding through their senior year, thus achieving graduation. A candidate must be entering their freshman year with the intended goal of receiving a Bachelors’ Degree in accounting, finance, marketing, computer science or real estate.
As the Foundation has grown, it has taken on a secondary mission to identify other educational (institutional) and civic projects where necessary funding may be required. Grants for these areas are considered on a case by case basis. Programs with a positive impact on education and youth within disadvantaged communities remain a top priority for the Foundation.
The Jennison Foundation has proudly made contributions to student scholars, educational institutions and community organizations in excess of four million dollars to date.
